Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens…
  • IMG_2403Always-available hot water –
due to a heater that has a working thermostat and doesn’t electrocute or steam-clean you
  • Plugs that fit sinks –
no need to wrap the plug with cling film to hope that the water stays in the sink or bath
  • Peace and quiet –
    No stampeding elephants above us
  • Reasonable Landlords (so far) –
No daily constant demands for money for mythical expenses etc.
  • Public transport directly outside the apartment –
No hills to climb because the idiotic building owner chooses to use the rear of the apartment block as the entrance, rather than the front.  We’re directly on the corniche here so it’s 10 yards maximum to catch a bus or taxi… These are a few of my favourite things – about our new apartment.

IMG_2401The move was performed over 2 days by the guys from Shahrazad which, for those of you who don’t know by now, is the coffee shop/bar/restaurant across the road from our old apartment which has now become the coffee shop/bar/restaurant next door to our new apartment.

IMG_2406Cleo (ginger, furry, some sort of feline) decided to be extremely unhappy about moving and had us up at 4am on the first day.  This allowed us to watch the sunset from our patio.

She tried again the second day to raise us but exhaustion won out.  She’s still being prissy but we managed to stay in bed until 8:30 this morning,  Result!

We’re gearing up for lots of home cooking and slobbing around the apartment/beach.  Antisocial creature that I am, life is looking good.
